December 2004
Sonny (now
Hershey) has
also charmed his foster family. When he arrived, it was
like he'd always been there. He loves the other dogs and cats
and is just a happy go lucky guy. His foster family
couldn't help but make him a permanent member of the clan.
|
 |
December 2004
Delia has
recovered from her knee surgery and now there's no stopping her!
She's getting to know the dogs in her new neighborhood and exploring the
walking and hiking trails with her family. She loves playing with
the children in the family and is happily teaching them to play her
favorite doggy games. |
 |
December 2004
Cody has
finally found his forever home! It's been a long time
coming but he is now a cherished member of a wonderful
family. He lives right across from a huge park, has a dog
walker (who adopted a GSP from us!), and keeps his family busy
doing dog friendly activities. We're so happy he found a
family who appreciates his quirks and loves his funny walk as
much as we do. Cody definitely thinks it was worth the
wait and now he has a reason to smile!

 |
November 2004
Dylan is
having the time of his life in his new home. There are plenty of
squirrels to be pointed in the neighborhood and he makes sure to find
each and every one of them. He's also a great athletic trainer and
makes sure the adults get their daily exercise. Dylan also has a
best friend in the family who can keep throwing a ball almost as long as
he can keep fetching it. Dylan is a very happy (and tired) dog these
days. |
 |
November 2004
Maya's foster
family fell in love with her too. She and their Boxer were
such great friends that they couldn't even think of separating
them. Maya is a lucky girl. We think her family is pretty
lucky too.
|
 |
November 2004
Mandy's foster
family fell in love with her and couldn't bear to let her go. She's fit
in so well with the rest of their animal family (they adopted Murphy
from us in 2003) that she was a natural addition to their household.
And Murphy is glad to have a big sister to take care of him (and
boss him around a bit). How wonderful for Mandy to have
her very own family for the holidays. |
 |
October 2004
Marcus (now Scout) is
a city boy and having a great time with all the hustle and
bustle of city life. He has great people, a Weimaraner
brother and a kitty to keep him company. He's excelling at
his obedience class and we're sure he'll be the top dog!
|
 |
October 2004
Duke has
his very own best friend! He's been keeping his family
entertained and
well-exercised. They can't believe why anyone would have
given this sweet GSP up but are happy that he's now part of
their life.
|
 |
October 2004
Porter is
now part of a big happy family. He's had a rough couple of months going
through heartworm treatment but is now recovered and living the good
life. This lucky boy is happy to be getting all the TLC he can
stand. |
 |
October 2004
Levi has
a reason to smile. He's enjoying a great life with his new
family! He has a GSP sister and children to romp and play
with. He get to go for rides in the car, trips to the park,
hikes and other fun outings. What more could a guy ask
for?
|
 |
September 2004
Lucy charmed
her way into her new family's heart. Even when we learned that she
had a cancerous tumor, they were so smitten they still took her
home. Now she works hard by spending the day at the office and
then plays hard at the beach.
We hope she has a long life ahead of her and we're certain it
will be a happy one. |
 |
September 2004
Oliver is
having a lot of fun with his dog friend Turbo and his new family. He's
keeping everyone active and has taken it upon himself to make sure
everyone stays in tip top shape. He's also making sure everyone
gets their dose of cuddle time - his philosophy is lots of cuddles a day
keeps the doctor away! |
 |
August 2004
Elliott has
quickly made himself at home with his new family. He loves
his neighborhood walks, enjoys fast games of fetch and chase,
and playing puppy tricks on his family. Elliott is the
star of his puppy class and makes his family very proud each and
every day.
|
 |
July 2004
Amos (now Rocky) is
reminding his family how much fun (and how much work) a puppy can
be! He's keeping everyone on their toes with his puppy curiosity
and also keeps them laughing with his antics. Rocky has a great
time running up and down the yard and, being a social butterfly, loves
to get out and meet all the neighbors and their dogs. |
 |
July 2004
Moose has
been having a blast this summer with his new family. He's
learned to swim and is a regular at the river. He's also a
celebrity at his local Petco where he goes to show off all of
his tricks to the staff in exchange for some yummy treats.
Moose can't believe his luck - his family thinks they're pretty
lucky too.
|
 |
July 2004
Cooper
can't get enough of the peace and wide open space in his new
home. Exploring is his favorite pastime now...and, of
course, being doted on by his family! He's very happy to
finally have found a place to call his own. His family is
glad he feels that way too.
|
 |
July 2004
Simon loves
his latest lot in life - a pool to lounge around on lazy afternoons,
fun-filled days at doggie daycare, and trips to the beach with his
special friend. They are like two peas in a pod and couldn't imagine
life without each other. |
 |
June 2004
Jax is
right at home with his Boxer sister Bell and his kitty friend.
He settled in quickly and is having a blast playing with his new
family. He loves all his doggy cousins and all the adventures
he's been going on. If Jax could speak, he'd be saying
"ahhhh home sweet home!"
|
 |
June 2004
Maxwell (now Cody)
had such an affect on his foster family that we never even had an
opportunity to post him before they said they wanted to adopt him!
This tiny little guy has a huge heart and brings joy everywhere he
goes. He had a rough start in life but it's all smooth sailing
from here. |
 |
June 2004
Spencer (now Tucker)
is also reminding his family how much fun and work a puppy can
be. It's a good thing he's so darned cute! He was
recently the demo puppy during a training seminar and made his
family (and us) very proud of how much he has learned. Good job,
Tucker!
|
 |
June 2004
Emmett
was the perfect little puppy in his foster home and is proving to be the
same in his forever home. He's already housetrained, has lots of
friends, and is the light of his family's life. They can't imagine
him not being around! Emmett's luck has continued to shine (his
litter was euthanized but he hid in his kennel and was rescued) and we
hope it will for a very long time. |
 |
June 2004
Sadie (now Doocie)
is reminding her family how much fun (and how much work!) a
puppy can be. She's having a blast on her hikes,
especially when she gets to the stream and can go for a little
swim. Her big brother is a GSP as well and is in his second
puppyhood trying to keep up with Doocie.
|
 |
May 2004
Thomas is
the new neighbor of Dixie who was adopted from us earlier in the
year. He gets to go play with her at the beach along with his
other buddies. His family said he's almost perfect...except for the time
when he decided to share their breakfast and snatched a piece of toast
right out of their hand. Boy was he proud of himself! Thomas
really is a good boy and they wouldn't change him for the world. |
 |
May 2004
Cricket (now
Isabella) has her
dream home with lots of room to run and play and two canine
sisters to keep up with, or should we say keep up with her!
She's also quite the little helper with chores - especially
sweeping and gardening. Now if she could only learn to
cook!
|
 |
May 2004
Woody has
finally found his forever home. With his wanderlust, he was one of
the most challenging GSPs we've had to date. We decided to give him one
last chance and sent him off to a trainer for some intensive work. He
made huge strides while there and settled into their routine nicely - so
nicely that he stayed! He still keeps her on her toes but is now a happy
member of her family. |

April 2004
Carson is
one of our most incredible success stories. He came to us
in such a neglected state that he couldn't even stand up. During
the time he was in our care he blossomed into a beautiful,
sweet, loving, and all-around incredible dog. We were able
to find that extra special home for him where he is truly loved
and a valued member of his family. Here are the types of
things that his family has reported to us: he loves to sneak
into bed and snuggle under the covers; he won't eat his meal
until he has a kiss first; his manners are impeccable and he's a
perfect gentleman; and he loves to lounge poolside. Does
it get any better than that?
|
 |
April 2004
Logan (now Modoc) is
living the life of sun and sand at his new home on the
beach. What a life for this big puppy! His family said
that when he gets a little out of control (as puppies are prone to do),
all it takes is a big hug to calm him right down - and what a huggable
big boy he is! |
 |
March 2004
Flynn also
worked his puppy charms on his foster people and made himself a
permanent member of their family. How could anyone not fall in
love with that face? He's keeping everyone on their toes
with his puppy enthusiasm and mischievousness, including his
Vizsla big brother.
|
 |
March 2004
Midge liked
her foster family so much she decided to stay. She now has a GSP
little brother (that was adopted from us a year ago) and a Weimaraner
big brother that she loves to torment. She's a dynamo of a little
dog and has a lot of joy to spread around. |
 |
March 2004
Lily worked
her puppy magic on her foster family's parents. She is now
a happy member of their household and looks up to her big GSP
brother. She is still the pesky little sister but
well-loved nonetheless. Doesn't she look happy?
|
 |
February 2004
Dixie is
charming all the residents of her San Francisco neighborhood. She
loves her daily runs on the beach chasing the seagulls and walking the
little members of her family to school every day. They adore her
as much as she does them. It's just one big happy family! |
 |
February 2004
Oakley (now Teddy) is
a happy boy after a pretty rough start to life. He's still
such a puppy and keeps his family laughing. Like when he pointed
the ceramic cat and barked at the "scary" vase.
Or when he carries around the phone in case he needs to call one
of his doggy buddies. Teddy is definitely one of a kind!
|
 |
January 2004
Cassie (now Casey) is
the perfect match for her new family. She's settled in so well
they can't even remember life with out her. She's having a blast
exploring the town and local hiking spots. They said they couldn't
have been happier with any other dog. Sounds like a great match to us! |
 |
January 2004
Bradley (now Bandit)
is the second GSP his
family has adopted from our rescue group. They drove all the way
up here in their RV with the whole family (human and canine) in
tow to meet this lucky dog. He jumped right in the RV,
plopped on the couch, and said "let's go home!"
Last we saw him, he was co-piloting the RV with his nose out the
window and his ears flapping in the wind. So long,
partner!
|
 |
January 2004
CJ (now Apollo) is
the perfect dog for a first-time GSP owner. He's mellow, gentle,
has nice house manners, knows basic obedience, and is a good all around
companion. He's also a great "city dog" and is loving life in
San Francisco. We think we found GSP fans for life, if we do say so
ourselves! |
 |
January 2004
Heidi had
quite a fan list while she was in rescue. She was even
instrumental in helping another rescue dog get adopted (see
Oakley's adoption story). Now that she's put on weight and
is healthy, she's having a great time with her new family.
She's fit in so well it's like she's always lived there. It's
nice to see her finally happy and so well-loved. |
 |
January 2004
Lady started
the New Year off right by heading home with her new family.
She's tormenting her older sister and brother as a puppy
should. She's also keeping her people entertained and on
their toes with her mischievousness. Lady has had the good fortune
of playing in the snow this winter! What fun chasing
snowflakes and catching snowballs can be for a silly puppy.
