December 2002 Lucas has
finally found his forever home! It took us 5 months and
interviewing over 30 families before we were able to select the perfect
one for him. Lucas agrees it was worth the wait! He's got a
spunky Lab brother to torment and daily runs in the park to burn off
that puppy energy. He's one happy Pointer! |
 |
November 2002 Ace
(now Chase) and Dottie are
happy to have each other as GSP siblings. This special
family adopted Ace from a Bay Area shelter and were quickly
hooked on the breed. A
short time later, they decided to add another GSP to their home
and gave Dottie an opportunity to become part of their
family. What a great pair and devoted family they have.
|
 |
November 2002 Sherman
was
spotted by his new family while he was still in the shelter. Unbeknownst
to them, we brought him into our rescue program. They
thought they lost him! To make a long story short, Sherman
is now living happily ever after in Santa Rosa with the family
who's heart he captured. Happy holidays, little
guy! |
 |
November 2002 Ranger
blossomed in his
foster home and quickly learned basic obedience commands.
A wonderful person in Vacaville fell
in love with him and now has the good fortune to have Ranger as
part of his family. He has a doggy sister to show him the
ropes and lots of fun outings to go on. Ranger's
definitely in doggy heaven!
|
 |
November 2002
Kate is
one lucky gal to have gone to such a great home! She has a
wonderful family and a Pointer sister to keep her young and fit.
Kate is near and dear to our hearts. She came into rescue just a
couple of days before Christmas last year. She was very thin and
terrified of the shelter. She just stood in the kennel and
shook. It
took quite almost a year to find a perfect home for Kate and
boy, it was worth the wait! What a happy ending for this
senior gal. |
 |
November 2002 Ben
(now Cody) is one of
the best-natured puppies we've had in rescue this year.
He's very willing to please, plays nicely with others, and is a
dream to train. His lucky new owner is very glad to have
such a well-mannered puppy join his family. He's been a
big hit at the Berkeley dog park and has made many new
friends. Good boy Cody!
|
 |
November 2002 Bluebell
(now Roxy) is also one of
Hope's puppies that had a mighty struggle to survive. It was touch
and go for the first couple of weeks she was with us, but true to the
GSP spirit, she's a fighter and a survivor. This was probably the
most difficult rescue we've had this year and we all fought to keep this
little gal with us. As you can see, she is a robust and happy
puppy which makes all we do so very worthwhile. We can't wait to
see Roxy's little personality develop and hope she doesn't present too
much of a challenge to her family as she goes through puppyhood. |
 |
November 2002 Gypsy
is one of Hope's
puppies that, after a long struggle to survive, is thrilled to
be in her forever home. She's been a fighter from the
beginning (and also a little troublemaker!). She's living
in La Honda where she gets to go for long walks in the redwoods
every day. Can you tell that she's the light of her new
family's life? We're looking forward to seeing her grow into a
wonderful dog and hope she doesn't try her family's patience too
much along the way.
|
 |
November 2002 Hope had
an uphill battle when she came into rescue with her 6 day old
puppies. She was significantly underweight, suffering from kennel
cough, and desperately trying to be the best mom she could.
Several weeks later with 3 healthy puppies to show for her
determination, she is now happy with her new family in Novato. It
was a long road to paradise but she made it! |
 |
October 2002 Max
(now Chase) is a true
rags to riches story. He went from being an unwanted dog
that was living his life in a backyard to a very loved and
cherished family companion. He has already started
obedience training and will give field work a try as well.
He has a very sweet Collie as his canine companion
|
 |
October 2002 Prince
is all settled in his new home in Colfax. He's quite the
adventurer and has been having a wonderful time exploring the area with
his new family. He has a GSP sister that was rescued from a
shelter and they are having a blast together. We are very happy
that Prince's story has a fairy tale ending. |
  |
October 2002 Holly
is one of Hope's "miracle puppies" and is now living
happily ever after in her new home in Fremont. She is a
teddy bear of a dog and is keeping her family smiling with all
her cuddles. She's doing very well with her puppy training
and we can't wait to see her grow into a beautiful adult dog.
|
 |
October 2002 Randi
came into rescue in a very sad way: she was
hit by a car 2 weeks prior to her family dumping her at the
shelter -- without any vet care for her broken hip and pelvis.
That's all behind her now and she's thrilled to be part of a very loving
family in Santa Rosa. She's happy, healthy and loving her new
life. Another happy ending for a very deserving rescue baby. |
 |
October 2002 Luci-Marie
was her foster family's first foster for GSP Rescue. They
and their GSP Ernie fell head over heels for her and decided to
make her a permanent part of their family. Luci-Marie and
Ernie are inseparable these days. They spend much of their
days perfecting their "hunting" techniques and making
sure all of the small furry and feathered creatures know they
are on patrol. |
 |
September 2002 Oscar
is thrilled to have found his forever home! He has a GSP
older brother and a young boy to play fetch with. His family
is enjoying his goofiness and young energy. For a dog that
has had a rough few months, he's hit the jackpot now!
|
 |
August 2002 Sydney
(now Jed) is having a great time with his new family. He has 3
boys to play with and a Jack Russell puppy to keep him
company. He settled in very quickly and is making a
wonderful companion for his new family. He has been a joy to have
in rescue and we look forward to watching him grow up.
|
 |
August 2002
Miggs'
foster family quickly realized what a special dog she is and
decided to add her to their home permanently! Miggs is truly
a survivor. (She survived the serious neglect from her former home.
She lasted more than 3 weeks in a high kill shelter with
"ok to euthanize" written on her card for two of
those weeks. She also had several baseball and lemon
sized lumps on her which were surgically removed. Miggs bled profusely during the lengthy surgery yet survived
once again. She then was diagnosed with cancer and underwent
more extensive surgery.) She
is now healthy and happy and ready to get on with her life.
We are all blessed to have shared a bit of time with Miggs and
wish her all the best in her very own forever home. |
 |
August 2002 Beau
is having the time of his life in his new home. He gets to
to work with his mom in Reno during the week where he is a much
loved member of the staff. He then spends weekends in
Stockton with his other buddies and has a great time checking
out all the fun parks and the delta. Could life get any
better than this? |
 |
August 2002 Annie
is one happy puppy to have her very own home in San Rafael.
She has started puppy training classes and is doing quite
well. She loves "hunting" fruit in her backyard
and is keeping her new family entertained with all her puppy
silliness.
|
 |
August 2002 Sadie
(now Karma) is so happy to have her own home and family that
she can't stop smiling! She has turned into such a happy and
confident girl. We are very appreciative of her new
guardians for opening their heart to a special needs girl.
It does our hearts good to see how she is just blossoming in their
care.
|
 |
July 2002 Tanner
is living a few miles down the road from Chipper in Los Gatos
as well. He is also enjoying all the wonderful open space
trails and wildlife. He has a very spunky older Vizsla
brother Cody
who is teaching him how to be a good canine companion.
Tanner has proven to be a very good student and is learning quite
quickly. Their favorite games are wrestling and counter
surfing - although the humans in the family frown on the
latter. In any case, Tanner is one happy GSP!
|
 |
July 2002 Chipper
is having a great time in Los Gatos with his new family.
He and Zika (his Vizsla sister) are inseparable. He is
enjoying the open space land around him and loves to point all the
wild life. He lets his family know how much he appreciates them
with a non-stop wagging tail! |
 |
July 2002 Milo

home. His new big sister thinks he's a wonderful addition to
the family and a lot of fun to chase around.
|
 |
July 2002 Myles
is enjoying the parks and beaches in San Francisco with his
new companion. He loves all the attention he is now getting
and is happy to report that he is spoiled rotten. Just how
we like them!
|
 |
July 2002 Hannah
is now living in San Francisco with her new best friend.
She also has a puppy cousin to visit and play with. Hannah's
already been out and about to the parks and beaches and is
becoming quite the social gal. She'll
be starting puppy classes soon to start off on the right
paw. We expect great things from little Hannah.
|
 |
July 2002 Emma
is now living in Burlingame with her new family. She
also has a Weimaraner big brother who is very tolerant of her
puppy antics. Emma has had a lot of fun already this
summer going to the family's cabin and out for walks with a dog
walking club. She's already blossoming into a wonderful
young pup and gaining confidence in the big world every day.
|
 |
July 2002
Mabel's
foster mom fell in love with her and has happily added Mabel to
her family. She is recovering well from her heartworm
treatment and is looking forward to living a long healthy life
in her new forever home. It's nice to report that Mabel's heart
wrenching story truly has a happy ending. |
 |
June 2002 Butch
(now Cosmo) is having a
great time in his new home. He loves his big sister Bailey and is
having fun romping at the dog park and frolicking at the beach.
He's been a big hit everywhere he's gone. Who could resist that
puppy face? We look forward to watching him grow up and can't wait
for a reunion with all the siblings. |
 |
May 2002 Mikey (now
Eddie) loves playing
with Katherine and Isabella, the younger members of his new
family. He is now living in Belmont and has the life any
puppy would love. He gets to go to work with the adults,
play with the children, and can just be the sweet silly puppy
that he is. He is looking forward to his first visit to
their cabin in Tahoe and will be a sight to see when he gets to
play in snow for the first time. We're looking forward to
watching Eddie grow up to be wonderful companion too!
|
 |
May 2002 Lucy (now
Tahoe) has taken all
her puppy energy to her new home in San Mateo. She's keeping her
new family entertained with all her puppy antics. She got
to spend Memorial Day weekend at their beach house and was
fascinated by her first experience with sand and all the
wonderful beach smells. We can't wait to watch Tahoe grow into a
wonderful Pointer girl!
|
 |
May 2002
Dylan (now Oscar)
is having a great time in San Francisco with his new buddy Rick. He's
getting to explore lots of interesting new things in the city
and is having a blast playing in the many parks nearby.
Oscar's going to start obedience training soon so he can be an
even better companion.
|
 |
May 2002
Missy (now Cassie)
is living the good life in Carmel with her new family. She
has a big GSP sister and a little Scottie sister to romp and play
with. She gets to run on the beach and is truly a sight to
behold - we think she might be part gazelle! Cassie has come
a far way in such a short time and is so happy to be in such a
warm and loving home.
|
 |
May 2002
Duke is happily
living with his new family in San Jose. He has a Lab buddy
Sydney that he absolute adores. It is truly a match made in
heaven. He even shares a basket (like the one he's carrying
in this picture) of toys with Sydney now. |
 |
April 2002 Moie's
long wait for a forever
home is finally over! She has found a family of her own and is now
living happily in San Jose. She goes running and hiking and is
having a great time with Joe and Anna. And they don't mind a bit
that she has a slight limp. Moie definitely believes it was well
worth the wait! |
 |
April 2002 Sally
has found the family
of her dreams and is now living in San Jose. She is even
trying her best to make friends with the family's cats.
Sally is thrilled to have a family and home of her own. As
a special treat, she even has her own chair in the living
room. This is such a happy ending for a sweet pup that
started life off in an unfriendly environment. She now
knows that people can be caring and gentle and even
trusted.
|
|
March 2002 Henna
is happily in her new
home in Kingsburg enjoying the rest of her puppyhood. She has a 1
year old Weimaraner brother that she loves to play with and
torment. Even though she spent the first 8 months of her life
outside, she has learned very quickly how to be a well-mannered indoor
companion. We are very happy that Henna now has the loving family
she so richly deserves. |
 |
March 2002
Callie Rose is
now a city girl and living the good life in San Francisco.
The long wait in foster care was certainly worth it. We're
so happy that Callie's new guardians opened their hearts and
home to a senior GSP. Callie also has two canine buddies
(one is a senior GSP) to while away the day.
|
 |
March 2002
Monty
hit the jackpot! His foster family thought he was such a great
GSP, they decided to keep him for themselves. He is such a
gentleman and an absolute sweetheart that we certainly couldn't
blame them for falling in love with Monty. Although we hate
to lose such a great foster family, Monty couldn't have found a
better place to call home. |
 |
March 2002
Jake
is now living in Arroyo
Grande on a lovely vineyard with his new GSP sister. The
two of them are having a great time romping in the vineyard and
playing with each other. It's always a race to see who can
outlast who - that's the joy of having two 8-10 month old
GSP puppies!
