HELP!
Foster
homes desperately needed
There are such a large
number of GSPs in shelters right now and we are at risk of
losing many of them due to a lack of foster home space. If
you could open your heart and home to a needy GSP, you would be
rewarded by the look of pure joy and salvation in the rescue
dog's eyes - a look you'll never forget. We provide vet
care and other support for each foster dog. You provide
the warm, comfortable home and lots of TLC. Please contact
us if you can help or would like more information (408) 402-2092

Shelter Dog
URGENT:
Needs out of shelter!!!
Location: Lakeport, CA
Danny is a 6 year old
male GSP. According to the shelter, he is neutered, up to date on shots and chipped. He is a nice boy. He loves hikes, and loves to ride in the car. His previous owner was in a wheelchair and died recently. Danny is very gentle after being raised by Tina. He misses her, but is bonding nicely here, and getting used to a different life. He is an easy keeper, walks off leash, comes in the yard when
it's time, crates for supper, crawls in "his" chair for night time. Claire and Danny went to a Memorial Day parade and did great! They were a hit! They walked down the street with heads held high, and did a pointer prance the whole way. We have good news and bad news about Danny. The good news is that Danny was adopted last week. The bad news is that he was returned. The good news is that he was returned
because of something someone can fix. He got out of his new yards. Under one fence, and over another. Danny can
also lift gate latches, which is what he does here. But, when he gets out here, he just hangs around, looking for lizards. At his other short lived home, he did come back home after walk abouts. The other good news is that in his short week, he was found to be very affectionate, well mannered, easy to walk with a prong collar, cuddly, and he started playing with the other dog in the home. His temp owners liked him so much they are sponsoring him here at the High Lonesome foster home.
If you're interested in Danny, please contact the shelter at (707)
349-2624 and refer to ID #474513.

Shelter Dog
URGENT:
Needs out of shelter!!!
Location: Petaluma, CA
The shelter says: Diesel is a
sweetie - he loves to lean on you! He likes physical contact. And it's sad, because in his previous home he had been an outdoor
dog - never allowed in the house. It's time that changed! He clearly is not happy being outside by himself all day; he does have a history of some barking, and we've seen it here. What else we know is what a nice dog Diesel is; he really does love to go on walks, pays attention to you, and seeks you out! He wants to be the only dog in the family, and no cats, please. He will be a great companion for someone active, who likes to take walks daily, or jogging would be great too. He will need a patient owner who will help him adjust to the comfy indoor life! Diesel is 6 years old, and already neutered.
If you're interested in Diesel, contact the shelter at (707)
778-4396.

Still
searching for his forever home!!!
Location: Bay Area, CA
Tommy is a
mature neutered male GSP who would like you to know that numbers don't mean anything. He thinks he's 2 and can certainly keep up with you! Tommy is super sweet toward all people, good with other dogs and is the very favorite dog of his foster family's 5 year old daughter. Housetraining and crate training are already under his belt and
he just graduated from a basic obedience class. When Tommy's tail wags, his whole body wiggles--truly adorable. Life with Tommy and a cat would probably be more exciting than you want it to be, so a cat-free home would be best. You won't be sorry if you give Mr. Adoptable a chance and make him part of your family.
If you're interested in
meeting this wonderful GSP, please fill out our Adoption
Questionnaire.
HELP
TOMMY WALK PAIN FREE!: Tommy
just had a consultation with our wonderful orthopedist because
he’s been limping on and off the past couple of months.
It turns out that he has a ligament tear in his right
knee. The best
results will be for Tommy to have surgery which will bring him
back to close to 100%! His
foster home is prepared to follow through with his
post-surgical care and rehab, and our orthopedist will give
our rescue group a significant discount!
Still, we are in need of $2900 in order to provide the
surgery. Any
amount, large or small, will help immensely. Tax
deductible donations can be made via the Paypal button below or sent to PO Box
933, Menlo Park, CA 94026. Tommy thanks you!
